![]() ![]() The game has an excellent 2D art style and picture expressiveness. Gradually uncover the mystery of the insect kingdom. With the deepening of the process, players can find props throughout the map to enhance the character's abilities, such as climbing walls and sprinting double jumps, and each unlocked prop will add a large new explorable scene, and you will be in the adventure. Players need to find clues in the map, communicate and communicate with NPCs, and learn the truth of the world from their few words.įree Download Hollow Knight Mobile Full GamePlay:#1 (Android, IOS)Īlthough the entire insect kingdom seems to extend in all directions, in fact there are many restrictions and door locks. The character operated by the player is a nobody from a foreign land, who is summoned by a mysterious voice and begins a journey to explore the story behind the kingdom. Due to some unknown reasons, most of the insects in the entire Hallownest have lost their souls. ![]() It makes me wish you could add custom markers to the map to note things like "Need Key" or "Need Doublejump".The story of the game takes place in an insect kingdom. ![]() So I spent possibly hours of time zig-zagging across the map which can be extremely annoying when you find out that "nope, I didn't go that way because of a huge black pillar of smoke" and have to climb all the way out of the bottom of Deepnest. I can see on my map where there are unexplored exits but I have no ability to remember if it is because there is a locked gate or what movement power I was missing at the time. My problem has been with the sparsity of fast-travel and the couple times I've had no idea where to go next. I enjoyed the early sections before you had the quill and compass to guide your way and typically you find Conifer fairly early into any given section. The way they handle maps doesn't bother me too much. I picked it up as part of the summer sale and put in an embarrassingly large amount of time over the weekend. The game is on sale for one more day on Steam. A clear top ten all-time game, and not out of contention for best ever, but not the clear number one it was in its midsection. I still find it unarguably the best in the genre, and not by a small margin, as well as the best game I've played this year. It's just that it took thirty hours to reach that point instead of eight (or four, in Momodora Reverie Under the Moonlight's case) so the wonderful part is proportionately more of the game. Eventually, there can only be one remaining path because eventually you have to go to the final boss. Like all metroidvanias, Hollow Knight has lost a few steps en route to the ending. If it had been the only dream area it would have fit better, but it didn't mesh with the other, similar areas any better than it did with the physical world. I'd have rather seen more traversal challenges scattered through the game, and a design in the White Palace that wasn't so different - a few more fights, a few less saws. However, thematically it seems kind of out of place, and doesn't have the strong visual design most of the game did. I used Fragile Health, Grubsong and the charm that gives two masks per heal and only once was in any danger of running out. Gameplay-wise it wasn't as bad as I'd expected, tricky traversal challenges but neither as long nor as difficult as I feared. White Palace completed, now I'm truly at endgame.
